Absence at Warrior Park tonight
Unfortunately for the first time this year The Back Post will not be covering tonight’s game between the Warriors and the Eagles live.
Both of us have prior commitments that have to take precedence and this is in no way a reflection or a statement on the goings on between Olympia and the media over the last few weeks.
We are happy to say that has all been rectified and we are disappointed to be missing the clash (and the char grilled chicken burgers) tonight!
We’d love live updates from anyone at the ground so please feel free to tweet using the hashtag #footballfedtas and update us via our Facebook page and in the comments section below this story!
Looking forward to having everyone back on board for the games for the rest of the weekend!
Cheers,
TBP

Warrior Park given the all clear
Football Federation Tasmania released the following statement today:
Following an inspection of Warrior Park this morning, FFT has confirmed that Warrior Park will continue to host Forestry Tasmania Southern Premier League matches, beginning with the visit of New Town Eagles tomorrow evening.Olympia FC Warriors have erected matting, mesh fencing and padding on the western sideline and the southeastern scoreboard corner of the ground to address safety concerns.
FFT thanks Olympia for their swift action to improve the ground’s safety features and to all clubs for their sensible approach to this issue.
We now look forward to a good match at Warrior Park tomorrow night, which is this round’s FFT Feature Match.

Finally! Some women’s coverage!
Welcome to the Back Post‘s newest reporter, Damian Gill, and his new section on southern Tasmanian women’s football. We have been seeking some women’s content for some time and we thank Damian’s efforts for extending our website’s coverage to provide some equality between the men’s and the women’s game.
Meet Damian.
First things first, I feel the need to introduce myself and what I intend to offer. I am Damian Gill and I am honoured to be part of The Back Post. I follow the Hobart football scene with keen interest and I am an aspiring journalist and I intend to help drive further interest in Hobart football with a high standard of reporting on the local game. I will mainly be writing on and following the women’s southern Premier League. I will provide a summary on the matches I attend in an effort for The Back Post to diversify their coverage of local football. I am keen to do as much as I can with my coverage of the women’s game so I do invite assistance and ideas from anyone. I will also be upfront and announce that I have a strong affiliation with Clarence United, but will strive to be balanced in my coverage. I apologise to the other women this weekend but I was only able to report Clarence United vs New Town in depth, but will endeavour to cover more games in the future.
See you round,
Damian Gill
