FT. Eagles drop off the pace of South Hobart after they were held here to a 1-1 draw against the Warriors.
90′ We’re into stoppage time.
83′ Huge shout from Olympia for a penalty as Page slides across Kunwar in the box. Galloway points to the corner flag.
78′ Scott curls a shot over the top Nester’s goal.
76′ SUB (Olympia): Woolley OFF, Kunwar ON.
73′ Wadawu crashes the ball onto the upright from a free-kick just outside the box! There were six Eagles men in the wall but Wadawu fires in a shot into crowded penalty area and it skips off the mud and onto the post! Pitchford was beaten.
71′ Woolley plays in a corner to the front post and Wadawu flicks onto the crossbar!!
69′ SUB (Olympia): Mohamad OFF, Page ON.
66′ Caution (Olympia): Mason is cautioned this time.
60′ Caution (Olympia): Woolley is handed a booking after bumping Whitehall to the ground
56′ GOAL! 1-1!!! Olympia have equalised when Phillips shoots and the ball trickles under Pitchford! The mud in the goal-square did the keeper no favours there! We’re back on level terms! At theist there is a little bit of excitement about this game given the terrible conditions!
54′ GOAL! 2-0! Clamp runs the ball into the net after the ball is looped over Nester. But hang on! The ref rubbed it out… NO GOAL.
52′ This is an absolute mud bath now. No way either team can play quality football in this kind of weather.
Second-half.
HT. Galloway blows the half-time whistle and the players quickly make their way off the field to get some shelter from the torrential downpour. Has been a pretty drab first half but McKeown has taken a rare opportunity for the home side for an important goal which could prove the difference.
45′ Phillips gets forward and curls a shot on target for Olympia. Saved easily by Pitchford.
43′ GOAL 1-0! New Town opens the scoring just as the game looked to be completely lifeless! Clamp slips McKeown through who beats the offside trap and slides the ball under Nester.
38′ Nothing much to report in the past 14 minutes, has been a slog for both teams in woeful conditions. The pitch is fairly muddy and holding up ok, but the rain is bucketing down and wind is blowing strongly across the pitch. Likely to transcend into a bit of a mud wrestle as the game goes on.
24′ Great run from Kumpelainen through the Eagles’ midfield, skipping past Scott before unleashing from distance with a powerful effort but it’s straight into Pitchford’s arms.
22′ Clamp fires wide of the target following a cross from the right.
20′ Whitehall crosses and McKeown throws himself into a bicycle kick but fails to make content and is pulled up for a high boot.
18′ Whitehall cuts in on the right in attack for Eagles and the passes along the deck to Leszczynski who is waiting to pounce! The Eagles’ striker curls a great shot which is destined for the top corner but Nester stretches across to palm the ball out. Olympia clear.
12′ Some desperate defending from Hudson denies Olympia the opener!! Woolley breaks down the right and dinks a ball through to Wadawu, who shapes to shoot but Hudson slides across and gets his legs and body in front of the ball to deny a clear chance for the visitors. Woolley picks up the rebound and crosses but Hudson is back again to slide the square-ball out for a corner.
10′ Some strong tackles flying in Lesczynski with a coupe of robust ones which are applauded by his teammates. Collins has had the better of Wolley down the left-hand side so far in this match.
2′ Two quick chances for both teams in quick succession, Collins for Eagles who smacks the first shot on target from outside the 18-yard box before Kumpelainent cracks a shot from inside the penalty areas onto the crossbar! An Olympia man follows up but fires over the bar.

Pretty woeful! It’s bucketing down! Pitch is still looking solid (although a few players have been slipping and sliding) but it’s increasingly turning into a bit of a bog in some areas. TBP.
Why was the goal rubbed out ???
Either offside or a foul in the box. Will have to confirm at the end of the game Steve…
